14:00: Session 1 – Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) and Emerging Digital Assets

Opening session facilitated by Igor Mikhalev, Partner at EY-Parthenon and founder of cbdctracker.org.

Igor is a recognized Emerging Technologies and Innovation Strategy leader experienced in world-class startup, academic, corporate, and consulting environments. His focus is on helping clients deliver competitive advantage and business performance improvement through the development of Emerging Tech-enabled state-of-the-art Business Strategies and Digital Ecosystems. Igor is consulting some of the world’s leading institutions on subjects like Digital Currencies, Generative AI, Tokenization, and Business Model Innovation. Igor is the founder of several open-source projects with more than 100k active users/followers. He authored many innovative papers and published pivotal articles in his area of expertise.

Before joining EY, Igor headed up Emerging Technologies and Digital Ecosystems Strategy topics at BCG and prior to that – a Life Sciences AI software product engineering group at Elsevier Science. Igor founded and built several successful AI and Blockchain start-ups with an 8-figure valuation.

Igor holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Economics (University of Amsterdam, Netherlands) and a Master’s degree in Software and Automated systems engineering.
